Recording Fees

When mailing in a document, make sure that exact fees are enclosed. Documents sent with too little or too many fees will be returned unrecorded.

RECORDING FEE PER DOCUMENT
To record 1-10 indexed entries, the fee is $25.
Each additional block of 10 indexed entries is $25.

DETERMINATION OF RECORDING ENTRIES
The County Clerk's Office will review the grantor/grantee's and legal description of each document and determine how many entries will be required for indexing. Every name indexed counts as one entry.

Recording fees are due at the time of recording.

Document Formatting Requirements

* Only original documents are recorded. They are returned after recording.

* The County Clerk's office uses a 2 x 4 inch recording label. Please allow enough space for this label, preferably on the first page. If sufficient space is not provided, the document will be returned unrecorded.

* All documents must be notarized and must have complete notary information, which includes a signature, date, seal, and expiration date.

* All pertinent parties must sign the document and should have corresponding names printed or typed beneath signatures.

* Use 8.5 x 11 inch white paper of sufficient weight. Black ink with a font size of at least 12 point will help to ensure legibility.

* A complete legal description is required for the transfer of real property. The real estate can also be described by referencing a previously recorded document. A reference must show the time and place of filing or recordation of the instrument.

* State the marital status of any male grantors involved in the conveyance.

* The grantee's complete mailing address is required.

* The consideration paid for the property should be listed.
